When Christie Met Bibi
NJ Gov. Chris Christie met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today onthe first day of Christie's week-long visit to Israel and Jordan. The two met for 45 minutes in a closed door meeting with several aides. According to the Star-Ledger:
Christie and Netanyahu discussed ways to build business trade links between Israel and the Garden State.
They also exchanged ideas about balancing government budgets in fiscally tight times and the rising problems of Iran’s development of a possible nuclear bombs.
“You know there are so many similarities between New Jersey and Israel,” Netanyahu told Christie as the two shook hands before the meeting and posed for photographs. “We’re roughly the same size. We’re roughly the same population. I know your voters have better neighbors.”
“This is my first visit abroad as Governor and there was never any question of where we would come first, so I’m glad we did,” Christie responded with a smile.
