My parents took me to the deli when I was a child.
Sorry to hear of your loss.  May he rest in peace.

I was feeling nostalgic when I Googled Kartzman’s Deli…to see if there was anything on the internet about it.  I knew it had closed on Mill Rd. in Irvington because I’d traveled from PA where I now live, about a decade ago…to get some baked goods like I’d grown up on…as a young girl.  I was so disappointed to see it had closed.  Kartzman’s was a place I always remember fondly when thinking about growing up in Irvington.  The bakery goods were THE BEST.  My sincere sympathy in the loss of Mr. Kartzman.  I’m sure I knew him from the bakery…I was there so often…growing up.
When friends ask me what I miss about Jersey…two things come to mind….Kartzman’s rolls and cheesecake…and Jimmy Buff’s hotdogs!  Thank you…Kartzman family…for the smile you put on my face hundreds of times over…enjoying the fruits of your husband/father’s labor..and the wonderful memories I cherish of Kartzman’s Deli…Sincerely..Suzanne Ambs
