Dr. Richard H. Schwartz is my hero. His 2002 book titled Judaism and Global Survival is the most compelling explanation of how we can save the planet and the reality of vegetariansim being a planetary imperative.

Hi,It is wonderful news that Tzipi Livini has been reported to be a vegetarian. I certainly agree with Dr. Richard Schwartz of Jewish Vegetarians of N. America. Treating animals with love and respect should be the priority of the Israeli and every government. It is time to move into the age of light and compassion. Bravo to Israel to become a country that lives in peace and harmony with her co-inhabitants, both people and animal. As the Jewish religion mandates, let the Jewish people be the leaders of a bright new age for humanity and animals.

Thanks for this material. I hope people who want more information on Jewish teachings that point to vegetarianism will visit JewishVeg.com/schwartz, where I have over 130 related articles and see our documentary: "A Sacred Duty: Applying Jewish Velues To Help Heal the World at ASacredDuty.com.

We would be happy to have a public debate on "Should Jews Be Vegetarians?" Why isn't vegetarianism on the Jewish agenda?
