His wife Amy Rule is a Jew by choice who volunteers with children at their modern Orthodox synagogue.

This paragraph is the last one in the article about Emmanuel and is hardly a strong statement. It is undeniably true that most American Jews have some non-Jews in their extended family somewhere. The question that goes unanswered is “So what?” What does this mean, if anything, to the Emmanuel family?
