And I probably figured that you didn't need anyone to explain that slicing off a piece of a newborn's penis is barbaric. I'm reminded of my favorite bit of dialogue from "Futurama:" Fry: "It's creepy here!" Soldier: "This is the worst part. The calm before the battle." Fry: "And then the battle is not so bad?" Soldier: "Oh right -- I forgot about the battle." I’m pretty good at guilt, no? You never once mentioned the barbaric nature of the ritual. However, in retrosoect it was one of proudest and most spiritually satisfying events of my life and my son seems no worse for the wear. And the buffet was pretty good too....
