Not sure if you can read the Facebook screen grab below, but apparently The Times in the U.K. eulogized a recently deceased musician and educator as a “visionary schoolmaster and benevolent organist” who “bestrode the rich diversity of his calling with consummate ease.”
Some of his former pupils beg to disagree. One calls him, “A terrible teacher, detested by generations of boys. I don’t know that he abused anyone, but he wasted hundreds of hours of my life.”
Who didn’t have a teacher who deserved an obituary with the headline, ”Terrible teacher, detested by generations of boys, is dead”?
