Sometimes a fantasy…
(With apologies to Billy Joel.)
If you prefer imported to domestic, take a look at Israeli Fantasy Hoops, a fantasy basketball website recently launched by Triangle Financial Services, owner of the Maccabi Haifa Heat Professional Basketball Club.
Participants can choose from a list of players including former NBA player Carlos Arroyo (Maccabi Tel Aviv), former USC star Davon Jefferson (Maccabi Haifa), and fan favorite Tamir Goodman (Maccabi Haifa), among others. Like most fantasy leagues, you pick your roster within a salary cap/point system. An interesting twist here: you also pick a coach.
You can sign up for free at www.israelifantasyhoops.com. Prizes, too. The top three points earners at the end of the season next April will win, in order of finish, a 42” Flat Screen TV, a video game system, and an iPod touch. You could even win two free tickets to Israel simply for registering.
