Jew-S-A, Jew-S-A

At this point in spring training, many players have temporarily left their teams to play for their countries in the World Baseball Classic.

Jewish MLers Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox), Ryan Braun (Brewers), and John Grabow (Pirates) will all wear the read, white, and blue for the U- S- of- A.

The American team beat the New York Yankees 6-5 in an exhibition exhibition game. Youkilis drove in the final two runs for USA with a single.

In an article on MLB.com, Braun said, “It’s an opportunity to represent my country, and that’s a really big deal. It’s not something I’m taking lightly.” He is expected to be the team’s starting left fielder.

Former major leaguer Adam Stern is on the Team Canada Roster as he tries to get back to the bigs with the Brewers. Stern is currently on the roster of the Nashville Sounds, Milwaukee’s AAA affiliate.
