Kevin Youkilis will miss the remainder of the World Baseball Classic due to an injury and Ryan Braun is also iffy.
Youk will return to the Red Sox camp for treatment, which for the time being means wearing a protective boot. He had appeared in six games in the Classic, hitting three homers with six runs batted in.
Braun, meanwhile, re-aggravated a rub injury that kept him out of the Brewers’ lineup for several weeks at the end of last season and cost him a chance for a .300 batting average. He will be heading to Los Angeles for the WBC semi-finals.
