MLB usually schedules an off-day following a team’s official opener, just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate, as was the case for the Monday Boston-Tampa Bay contest.
So in limited action yesterday:
- Kevin Youkilis had two hits, including a double, and scored a run as the Red Sox beat the 2008 AL champ Rays 5-3.
- Ryan Braun also had two safeties, a stolen base, and a run scored, but his Brewers lost to the San Francisco Giants, 10-6.
