JML Update, April 14
On the ups: All the teams with Jewish players lost yesterday. Guess who’s gonna get the blame.
On the downs: Ryan Braun was 0-2 with three walks, dropping his batting average to.195 as the Brewers lost to the Reds, 7-6. Scott Feldman had another meltdown, giving up three runs (including a homer) on four hits in 2 2/3 innings in the Rangers 10-9 loss to the Orioles. he should have quite when he was ahead: he struck out two batters to end a five-run Orioles fifth inning.
Pareve: Scott Schoeneweis pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning in the Diamondbacks 2-1 loss to the Cardinals. Kevin Youkilis (.519) had a double and a home run (his second of the year), but it wasn’t enough as the Oakland Athletics wrung out the Red Sox, 8-2. Craig Breslow struck out the only batter he faced in his Twins’ 8-6 loss to the Bue Jays. Ian Kinsler had a single and his fifth double of the year in the Texas loss to baltimore. Gabe Kapler entered the game as a pinch hitter and went 0-2, dropping his average to .100 as the Rays romped over the Yankees, 15-5.
