JML Update, games of May 21

On the ups: Gabe Kapler (Rays) had a double in three at bats and scored a run in Tampa’s 6-5 win over Oakland. That brings his average to an even .200. Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox) was 1-3 with a walk, run scored, and RBI  as Boston swept the Blue Jays to move to just a half game back for first place in the AL East. Ryan Braun (Brewers) had two hits, including his first triple of the year, a run acsored and an RBI in Milwaukees’ 4-3 victory over the Astros. The Brewers have the second-best record in the Majors and stand atop the NL Central, two games up over the Cardinals.

On the downs: Ian Kinsler (Rangers) was 1-5 as the Tigers beat Texas 4-3. He has just four hits in his last 28 at bats, although three of them were for extra bases.
