JML Update: Games of June 28
First of all, a big Mazel tov to Ryan Sadowski, who was called up by the San Francisco Giants from Fresno of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) when pitcher Kelvin Pichardo was placed on the 60-day disabled list. Sadowski, a 26-year-old, 6’4″, 195-pound, right-handed pitcher, made an immediate impact in his big league debut yesterday, pitching six shutout innings in a 7-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. He even contributed a single in three at-bats and fielded two chances.
And a “welcome back” to Chicago Cubs outfielder Sam Fuld, who at last report was about to be recalled from Triple-A Iowa to replace Aaron Miles, who is headed to the 15-day disabled list with a hyper-extended right elbow.Fuld, who made his debut as a September call-up in 2007, when he was 0-6 with three walks, three strikeouts, and three runs scored.
That elevates the total of MOT back to 13.
