Bad break for Foreman
An “accidental” head butt from his opponent might have prevented junior middleweight boxer Yuri Foreman from getting is 29th victory.
In the third of a scheduled 12-round bout at at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Cornelius Bundrage opened a deep cut over Foreman’s right eye, forcing the ring doctor to call the fight, rendering it a no-decision.
The NY Daily News has a nice piece on Foreman and his Jewish background. Before considering his next match,
Foreman’s cut must heal. After the bout he trekked back to Carroll Gardens, where he lives, and on Sunday he plans to visit a plastic surgeon to sew up the cut.
And of course, he will continue his rabbinical studies, where he will surely be the only student in class at the IYYUN Institute, a Jewish educational center in Gowanus, with fresh stitches.
