On the ups:

On the downs: Brad Ausmus (Dodgers) struck out as a pinch hitter as the Rockies downed Los Angeles, 4-2.

Pareve: Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox) and Ryan Braun (Brewers) were each 1-5 — Youkilis’ hit a double — in their team’s wins, 4-0 shutout over the Orioles and 10-6 pasting of the Mets, respectively. Ian Kinsler (Rangers was 1-4 in a 5-2 loss to the Angels. Sam Fuld (Cubs) made his first appearence of the year, entering the game as a pinch runner and going in on defense Chicago beat the Pirates, 3-1.

DNP: Aaron Poreda (White Sox); John Grabow (Pirates); Gabe Kapler (Rays); Scott Feldman (Rangers); Ryan Sadowski (Giants); Craig Breslow (As); Jason Marquis (Rockies); Scott Schoeneweis (Diamondbacks, no game).
