A little late, but…
On the ups: Jason Marquis (Rockies) won his 14th game, good for tops in the National League, against the Nationals, 5-4. He also had a double and scored a run. Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox) was 1-4 with a run scored as Boston Beat Toronto, 6-1.
On the downs: Josh Whitesell (Diamondbacks) was 0-1 as a pinch hitter, as the D’backs lost to Cliff Lee and the Phillies, 8-1.
Pareve: Ryan Braun (Brewers) was 1-3 with a walk and drove in his team’s only run in a 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh. Ian Kinsler (Rangers) was 1-4 with a run scored as the Twins npped the Rangers, 5-4. Craig Breslow (As) pitched a perfect inning in the As’ 3-2 loss to the Yankees. Sam Fuld (Cubs) got into his team’s 7-1 victory over the Padres as a defensive replaecment.
