Sam Fuld joins Mets
Sorry, just kidding, but he’d fit right in. He injured his thumb diving for a ball Monday night and will miss a chunk of playing time.
According to the Chicago Tribune baseball blog:
Fuld said he expects to miss a week or so with a strained left thumb, or a “puffy thumb,” as manager Lou Piniella called it. But chances are the Cubs will allow Fuld more time to heal, and that means he could be out for the rest of the season.
A natural for the 2009 Mets.
But a bad thumb is small potatoes for Fuld, who has forged a career in pro sports despite suffering from juvenile diabetes.

In 2007, Fuld received the Arizona Fall League's Stenson Award for leadership by MLB.com's and "KK" friend Jonathan Mayo. (Bill Mitchell/MLB.com)

He’s my favorite player!
