And that’s all she wrote

Another regular baseball season has come to an end. I’ll pontificate (if I can use that word, as a Jew) anon, but I just wanted to wrap up the final JML upate for Sunday, Oct. 4.

Special mention: Sam Fuld (Cubs) hit his first major league home run and drove in both the team’s runs as Chicago fell to the Diamondbacks, 5-2.

On the ups: Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox) 1-2 with a run scored in a 12-7 win over the Indians. Ryan Braun (Brewers), 2-5 with a double, run scored, RBI, and walk, as Milwaukee beat the Cardinals, 9-7.

On the downs: Craig Breslow (As), gave up three hits and a run while striking out two in 1.1 innings, as the Angeles beat the As, 5-3. Scott Feldman (Rangers) blew his chance to win chai, yielding four runs on six hits and a walk in six innings to the Mariners in the 4-3 decision. Jason Marquis (Rockies) took his fifth loss in his last six decisions, as the Dodgers took the game 5-3. Marquis pitched four innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks.

Pareve:  Gabe Kapler (Tampa) 1-3 in a 10-2 loss to the Yankees. Ian Kinsler (Rangers) was 1-4 with a double and two runs scored.

DNP: Scott Schoeneweiss (Diamondbacks), John Grabow (Cubs), Aaron Poreda (Padres),
