Sports reporter and author Pete Williams posted this nice profile on his blog about the positive impact the (Jewish) leadership of the Tampa Bay Rays has had on the team and its fans.
Four years ago tomorrow [Oct. 6], Stuart Sternberg took control of the Tampa Bay Rays. Speaking to fans via a news conference, he said, “We will not ask what you can do for the Devil Rays. We will ask what the Devil Rays can do for you.”
Four years later, perhaps it’s appropriate to invoke another thought from the world of politics. “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”
For Rays fans, the answer is an emphatic “yes.”
