Mazel tov to the U.S national soccer team

The U.S. team upset Honduras on their home turf Saturday night in a dramatic come-from-behind 3-2 victory.

Benny Fielhaber played briefly and did not figure in the scoring.

I have never understood the fascination with soccer, which can go for an entire game and end with a score of 1-0. Sure, other sports can end with such a tally, but it just seems a more tense effort, like a shutout in baseball or hockey. Baseball seems to be the only major sport that doesn’t go in a straight back-and-forth pattern (soccer, football, basketball, hockey). Maybe that has something to do with it: scoring in baseball seems like more of an accomplishment, like completing a circuit.

I’m just sayin’…
