In: Brad Ausmus (Dodgers) didn’t get in any of the games as the Los Angeles swept the Cardinal to advance to the NL Championship Series.
Out: Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox) will have to wait til next year for another shot at an American League pennant. Boston ropped the game and series to the Angeles thanks to a rare ninth-inning post-season meltdown by closer John Paplebon. Youkilis had just one hit (a double) in twelve at bats in the ALDS.
Edge: The Phillies beat the Rockies last night, 6-5, the winning run coming in the top of the ninth at chilly Coors Field. Phildelphia leads Jason Marquis and his teammates, two games to won, with Game Four today.
