- Tackle Igor Olshansky made three tackles and assisted on two more, but it wasn’t enough to keep Dallas from falling into their annual December swoon, losing to the San Diego Chargers, 20-17. Guard Kyle Kosier also started the game. The Chargers’ long snapper David Binn also appeared in the game. The ‘Boys have an 8-5 mark, which still leads the division; the Giants lost an opportunity to gain ground, losing a defensive embarrassment to the Philadelphia Eagles, 45-38.
- Carolina Panthers’ tackle Geoff Schwartz played in the team’s 20-10 loss to the New England Patriots. Unlike last week’s game, he was not used for a kick return.
- Aaron Podlesh made seven punts (39.4 yard average, including a 62-yarder) in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 14-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
- The Minnesota Vikings rebounded from their 30-17 against the Arizona Cardinals last week by beating up on the Cincinnati Bengals, 30-10, but guess what? Sage Rosenfels still didn’t get into the game.
Ron,
Antonio Garay (one Jewish parent), a defensive end out of Boston College, was signed to the Chargers’ active roster this week off the Jets’ practice squad. He didn’t play against the Cowboys. He has previous experience with the Browns and Bears.
Thanks for the heads-up, Bob!
Also, watch for Geoff Schwartz to start for Carolina this weekend. The Panthers placed starting right tackle Jeff Otah on injured reserve today with a knee injury.
