A league of our own
Nice story, would love to attend one of these someday. Any new Ryan Braun’s in the group?
Ryan Brauns? Sure, just add 30 years and 3o pounds.
Ron,
Just found this site. Good stuff. I have Willie Mays on my table and will get to it soon. I just finished Marty Appel’s new Thurman Munson book, good read, more in-depth stuff.
Here’s a book to recommend from a few years ago..although not about baseball. It’s Sally Jenkins’, The Real All-Americans. Its about the “Americanization of American Indians” at the end of the 19th Century, the start of the Carlise School, the Indian football team’s rise to power in the first 15 years of the 20th Century, and of course Jim Thorpe.
Happy 2010 baseball season. Oh yes, looking forward to a good season from Kevin Youkilis (or as Billy Beane called him, the “Greek God of Walks”) as my top JIB (Jew in baseball).
Steve Schneider
Thanks for the note, neighbor. Enjoy.
