Just a way of expressing my disappointment that free agent pitcher Jason Marquis has apparently decided to plight his trough with the Washington Nationals rather than the Mets.
The Nats, who have finished in last place for much of this century, project Marquis as a top-of-the-rotation starter.
Yes, it’s a downer Marquis didn’t land in NY. One thing for sure though, if he somehow keeps his career playoff streak alive with the Nats, he really is the ultimate good luck charm. He’ll have his work cut out for him, but maybe he forms a solid 1-2 punch with Stephen Strasburg.
Definitely would have liked to see Marquis land in NY and see him pitch on a regular basis, but I wish him luck with the Nats. If he somehow keeps his playoff streak intact with Washington, he really is the ultimate good luck charm. The Nats will probably still struggle, but if Marquis forms a solid 1-2 tandem with the rookie phenom, Stephen Strasburg, I suppose they have a solid chance of being a relatively surprising team.
