Samson ain’t got nothin’ on these guys
Never really paid attention to football stats too much, but it was interesting to see that three of the five teams with Jewish players finished in the top five in AOL.com Sports Power Rankings:
No. 1: San Diego Chargers (David Binn, Antonio Garay)
No. 3: Dallas Cowboys (Igor Olshansky, Kyle Kosier)
No. 5: Minnesota Vikings (Sage Rosenfels. Since he didn’t play much, we’ll attribute this to strength of character.)
And just to round off the MOTs, the Carolina Panthers (Geoff Schwartz) were # 17 and the Jacksonville Jaguars (Adam Podlesh) were #23.

While no real Jewish standout superstar players in the NFL, unlike MLB, at least we are nicely represented in the playoffs. With only a handful of players, the Jew to playoff ratio is off the charts.
I’m forever puzzled over the discussion of the “Jewishness” — or lack of it — of some professional athletes. When I watch a game, the religion or race of the players never enters my mind. In my opinion, that is irrelevant. I watch for what the players do, not for what they are.
Yet here you are, Milton: on a blog about Jews and sports?
