Scho’ nuff
As the saying goes, no lefty reliever stays unemployed for too long.
After telling reporters he would not sign a minor league deal after his release from the Milwaukee Brewers earlier this week, Scott Schoenweis signed a minor league deal. With the Red Sox. Not that anyone would blame him.
According to NECN.com,
Boston is looking for a second left-hander in the bullpen to compliment Hideki Okajima, and Schoeneweis may compete with Alan Embree, whom the Sox signed earlier this week, for that spot.
It is unlikely Embree will be ready to start the season, which may give Schoeneweis an edge.
