JML update: Games of April 28
Baseball-Reference has one of its quirky analyses as it deconstructs Ike Davis‘ first 10 games, in which the Mets are 9-1. In yesterday’s 7-3 win – the conclusion of a sweep over the Dodgers — Davis was 2-4 with a RBI. He’s batting .355 over his first ten games.
Ryan Braun was 2-6 with a double, two runs, and a walk, but the Pirates beat his Brewers 7-6 in 14 innings.
Kevin Youkilis had a double in four at bats as the Red Sox shut out the Blue Jays, 2-0. Scott Schoeneweis did not appear in the game.
Gabe Kapler was 1-2 with a run scored as the Rays beat the A’s 10-3. Craig Breslow did not appear in the game for the A’s.
Ian Kinsler is chomping at the bit to get back to action. He’s expected to make his season debut for the Rangers against Seattle tomorrow night. He had hoped to get into today’s game against the White Sox but that request was denied by manager Ron Washington.
Brad Ausmus (Dodgers) and Jason Marquis (Nationals) remain on the DL.
DNP: John Grabow (Cubs), Scott Feldman (Rangers)

Quirky? I’ll take that as a compliment
Of course, I meant that in the most complimentary of terms. BR comes up with stuff “you can’t find anywhere else” and, better still, opens up the mind to heretofore unthought-of issues.
