Hiyo, Kinsler, away!

Mazel tov to Ian Kinsler and the Texas Rangers, who beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-1, on the road to move on to the AL Championship series against the Yankees. This marks the deepest the Rangers have ever advanced in the post-season.

Kinsler was once again instrumental in the win. He was 3-4 including a two-run homer in top of the ninth to crush the Rays’ hopes. He also had a run-scoring fielder’s choice in the eighth. For the series, Kinsler was 8-18 (.444) with three homers, five runs scored, and six RBIs, accounting for more than 50 percent of the team’s run production.

The Rangers begin their series at home against the Yankees on Friday at 7 p.m.
