Happy birthday, Sandy Koufax

Dandy Sandy turns 75 (!) today. Can it really be?

I hope I look that good when I’m his age. Or ever.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, I’m going to refer to previous links about the Dodger (and Jewish) legend from the Korner.

Here’s a link to the Google Image page for the numerous Koufax baseball cards.

Finally, some reading material for your consideration:

  • Wow, time flies. Imagine that Sandy retired 45 years ago already. Unfortunately, as a Jewish sports fan, I didn’t live through that era, or Red Auerbach’s Celtics for that matter. Of course, with all that’s been preserved, I feel like I have a pretty good idea of Koufax’s dominance. Still, it’s not the same as actually following things in real time, and many who did say Sandy was the best.

By the way, Ron, do you have any memories of Sandy pitching? You were probably just a kid during his heyday.
