JFL update

Ain’t none!

No Jewish players remain active in the 2010 season.

But on the plus side, a made a new “discovery.” Gabe Carmini isn’t the only MOT involved in the seemingly endless parade of college bowl games. In fact, senior Max Forer of the University of Oregon is going to the big dance, pitting the Ducks against Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers in tonight’s BCS Championship Game.

In an interview, the 6’3″, 267 pound offensive lineman said he didn’t mind the anonymity usually associated with a position that doesn’t generate any stats or get your face on SportsCenter.

From the Jewish Journal story: “My personality is to protect people,” Forer said. “The way we [offensive linemen] are, the way we’re built, our job is to protect. We sacrifice as much as anyone, that’s our job. It’s a fulfilling job for me.”

Spoken like a true Jewish parent.
