Craig Breslow struck out three and gave up a hit in 1.1 innings as the A’s lost to the visiting Yankees, 5-0. He entered the game with a runner on second in the seventh and did not allow him to score and struck out the side in the eighth.

John Grabow gave up an unearned run in 1.2 innings as the Cubs lost to the Astros, 12-7. Grabow came on in the seventh inning with runners on second and third and one out. One run, charged to the previous pitcher, run scored on an error by the Cubs second baseman. Grabow’s unearned run came as the result of an additional error

DNP: Ike Davis, Mets, Disabled List. Jason Marquis tries to improve his record to 6-2 tonight when the Nationals host Cliff Lee and the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. Neither Sam Fuld nor Ian Kinsler played in the game between the Rangers and Rays in Tampa, which the visiting team won, 11-5.
