JML weekend update, July 22-24
Welcome to the Majors, Jason Kipnis. Although he’s listed as an outfielder on the Indians’ active roster, he made his debut at second base on Friday in a 3-0 loss to the White Sox. Batting eighth in the lineup, Kipnis grounded out to second on a 1-1 count in the third inning. He flied out to right on the same count in the fifth and was hit by a Gavin Floyd pitch on a 2-2 count in the eighth. Kipnis did not play in the Sunday game (Saturday’s contest was rained out).
He’s so new, ESPN doesn’t even have a page for his Major League stats yet.
