Welcome to the Club

So Ryan Braun and Ian Kinsler are a subset of an already select group of player to achieve 30 or more home runs and stolen bases — the deadly combination of power and speed — in a single season. As of Game #161, Braun had 33 home runs and 32 stolen bases (he was only caught six times). Kinsler is 32-30 with only three CS’s. Very efficient, gentlemen.

This marks Kinsler’s second go-round; in 2009 he squeaked in with 31 homers and 3o steals. He one of a few players to make multiple appearances on the list.

The only other member of the MOT 30-30 group is Shawn Green, who had a very symmetrical 35-35 for the Toronto Blue Jays in 1998.
