Shahar Peer was eliminated in the second round by Sabine Lisicki of Germany,6-2, 6-1.

The U.S. Ryan brothers, Bob and Mike, defeated Jonathan Ehrlich and Andy Ram7-6, 6-4 on Jan. 19.

Ram and his mixed doubles partner, Yaroslava Shvedova (KAZ), defeated Anastasia Rodionova (AUS) and Christopher Kas (GER), on Jan 21. 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 (tiebreaker).

Israelis Julia Glushko, Dudi Sela and Amir Weintraub had already been eliminated, as had Jesse Levine (USA).

One player I had overlooked: Scott Lipsky (USA), who, with his men’s doubles partner, Rajeev Ram (USA), defeated Albert Montanes and Albert Ramos (ESP ) 7-6, 7-6 in the first round; Michal Mertinak (SVK) and Andre Sa (BRA), 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 in the second round; and Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna (IND) in the third round, 7-6, 6-2.

Lipsky is also playing mixed doubles with Vladimira Uhlirova (CZE). They beat Polona Hercog (SLO) and Juan Sebastian Cabal (COL), 7-6, 7-5 in the first round before losing to Liezel Huber (USA) and Colin Fleming (GBR), 3-6, 2-6 in the second round. Thanks to haver Mark Y. for the tip.
