Kinsler goes for the green

(And why aren’t there more professional Jewish golfers?)

Pending a physical, Ian Kinsler is about to sign the largest contract ever for a second baseman. According to various sources, Kinsler has agreed to a five-year contract worth $75 million. The extension begins in 2013, with an option for a sixth year worth $10 million that can vest to $12 million. The buyout is $5 million.

Kinsler’s agent said his client wants to remain with the Texas Rangers and help build a “dynasty.”
