A quiet day for the landsmen.
After putting down the Oakland As in order in the first (including two strikeouts), Scott Feldman got bombed, giving up eight earned runs on seven hits and a walk in the second inning en route to a 12-1 Rangers’ loss. Not surprisingly Feldman didn’t make it out of the second. Ian Kinsler was the designated hitter and went 0-4. The bigger news was As rookie pitcher Jarrod Parker taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
Craig Breslow needed just one pitch to retire the only batter he faced in a 4-0 Diamondbacks’ loss to the Colorado Rockies.
Ike Davis was 0-2 in yesterday’s 5-4 loss to the Cardinals. With Jason Bay due to come off the disabled list, I can’t say I’d be totally surprised if the Mets finally send him down. Josh Satin, who did not appear in the game, is just one of several players who could manage first base.
