Ike Davis was the lone offensive bright spot in the Mets’ 6-1 loss to the host Chicago Cubs. He hit his ninth home run of the season – and third in his last six games — to avert the shutout.

Ryan Kalish was 2-4 with an RBI, but the Boston Red Sox still lost to the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, 9-6.
Ryan Braun saw his hitting streak end at 18 games. He was 0-4 with three strikeouts as the Milwaukee Brewers dropped a 3-1 decision to the host Cinn. Reds.
Ian Kinsler was 1-5 as the Texas Rangers lost to the visiting Detroit Tigers, 8-2. Scott Feldman did not appear in the game.
Jason Marquis appeared as a pinch-runner in the ninth inning in the San Diego Padres’ 8-7 10-inning win over the host Houston Astros.
Michael Schwimer did not appearance in the Phillies’ 8-3 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates.
Craig Breslow and the Ariz. Diamondbacks had the day off.
