JML Update, July 17
And now for the rest, well Ryan Braun was the only JML who saw action last night. He was 1-4 with a double that drove in one of the Milwaukee Brewers’ two runs. Unfortunately the visiting St. Louis Cardinals scored three. Braun, who leads the NL with home runs and RBIs and is ninth in batting average, also struck out twice.
Michael Schwimer did not pitch in the Philadelphia Phillies’ 3-2 win over the host LA Dodgers. Jason Marquis did not appear in the San Diego Padres’ 2-0 loss to the visiting Houston Astros.
Ike Davis and the NY Mets had the day off. They resume against the first-place Washington Nationals tonight. Also enjoying a break: Craig Breslow (Ariz. Diamondbacks) and Ian Kinsler and Scott Feldman (Texas Rangers).
