JML update, July 25

If Sam Fuld came back early, Ian Kinsler left early. He was ejected in the first inning for arguing an out call as the Texas Rangers lost to the visiting Boston Red Sox, 2-1. Scott Feldman did not appear in the game.

For the second night in a row, the Milwaukee Brewers trotted out their best NY Mets bullpen impression, giving up six runs in the eighth inning to hand the host Philadelphia Phillies a 7-6 win. Ryan Braun was 3-4, including his NL-leading 27th home run. He also scored half of the Brewers’ runs. Phillies’ reliever Michael Schwimer evened his record at 1-1 after pitching a perfect eighth.

Ike Davis was 1-4 as the host NY Mets lost again to the Washington Nationals, 5-2. The Mets have lost 10 of their last 11 to fall three games under .500 and 10.5 behind the Nats. And I don;’ have high hopes for their afternoon game, with Stephen Strasburg on the hill for Washington.

Kevin Youkilis was 0-3 but still managed to score two runs, thanks to receiving a pair of walks as the Chicago White Sox defeated the visiting Minn. Twins, 11-4.

Craig Breslow did not appear for the Ariz. Diamondbacks in their 6-2 win over the visiting Colorado Rockies. Jason Marquis did not appear in the San Diego Padres’ 3-2 loss to the host San Francisco Giants.
