JML update, Aug. 30

Ike Davis was 2-4 with a run scored as the NY Mets won their fourth (!) in a row, besting the host Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2. Davis has really stepped up his game, batting an even .300 for the month of August.

Kevin Youkilis was 0-4, but the Chicago White Sox still blasted the host Baltimore Orioles, 8-1.

Ian Kinsler was hitless in five at bats, striking out three times as the visiting Tampa Bay Rays doubled up on the Texas Rangers, 8-4. Scott Feldman did not appear in the game. Sam Fuld batted ninth for the Rays, stroking a triple in four at bats and scoring a run. He also made his first error of the season when he bobbled a ball.

Ryan Braun had a single and double (#26) in four at bats as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the host Chicago Cubs, 3-1.

Ryan Lavarnway batted fifth in the lineup, going 1-4, as the Boston Red Sox lost to the host Los Angeles Angels, 10-3. Ryan Kalish entered the game as a defensive replacement in centerfield in the seventh inning and was hitless in his only at bat. Craig Breslow did not appear in the game.

Jason Marquis (San Diego Padres) is on the disabled list.
