WBC Final: Israel 4, Spain 2
Josh Zeid gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth, but Israel hangs on for the 4-2 victory.
Is it too early to suggest Nate Freiman as tourney MVP? Two more home runs and all of Israel’s RBIs. Joc Pederson also had two hits. KK reader Eric suggest naming him “Mr. Tishrei.” Can a candy bar be far behind?
And a yasher koach to the pitchers. Justin Schumer who allowed one run (unearned) on six hits, a walk, and a hit batsman in 5.2 innings. He was followed with scoreless relief by David Kopp and Richard Bleier before Zeid came in to finish things up.
Now, this is where it gets nuts. Not sure who Israel plays next or when.
