KK read Jeff sent this in as a comment re: the latest athlete to claim the nickname “The Hebrew Hammer,” but since some of you might be too busy to actually click on the comment link, I thought I’d be a nice guy and reproduce it in its own entry:
I agree that enough already with the “Hebrew Hammers”.
However, shouldn’t we offer solutions when we criticize?
Thus, I suggest that the following alternatives are available to any aspiring Yiddishe pugilist: the “Ashenazi Assassin”, the “Sephardic Slugger”, the “Brawling Boychick”, the “Talmudic Torpedo”, the “Kippahed Contender”, the “Frum Fighter”, the “Conservative Combatant”, the “Jerusalem Jabber”, and the “Wailing Warrier”.
I’m sure there are others, but it’s a start.
