JML milestones reached in 2012

According to Martin Abramowitz, creator of JewishMajorLeaguers.org,

Jason Marquis (right) moved into third place on all-time wins list with 112, trailing just Ken Holtzman (174) and Sandy Koufax (165). Marquis also tied Steve Stone for third place in strikeouts with 1,065 (Koufax and Holtzman, again). On the “dubious” side, the Staten Island native set a record for most franchises by Jewish player with eight.

Ryan Braun tied the other Hebrew Hammer, Hank Greenberg, with a .313 lifetime batting average. He also passed Al Rosen in home runs and is currently tied with Sid Gordon at 202. Greenberg hit 331, followed by Shawn Green’s 328.

Braun and Kevin Youkilis each passed the 1,000 hits plateau.
