JML update, World Series edition
Just because the boys aren’t playing in the Fall Classic doesn’t mean they’re not on our minds.
Yankees skipper Joe Girardi says that Alex Rodriguez will be the third baseman next year. Yeah, management says a lot of things, but that doesn’t mean they won’t change between now and then. That being the case, add the Bronx Bombers to the list of teams that might be interested in signing free agent Kevin Youkilis.
Actually, with the exception of the Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun, any of the JMLs could be playing in a new town next season, including Ike Davis (although this guy thinks Ian Kinsler will remain a Texas Ranger in 2013.
Apparently it was close choice for the Red Sox, who opted for John Farrell as their new manager, but Brad Ausmus had a good interview. For the time being, he’ll remain with the San Diego Padres as a “special assistant.” Although the Miami Marlins are looking for a new manager after firing the controversial Ozzie Guillen.
