JML Hot Stove League, Dec. 21
It may not be Cooperstown, but it’s still a nice recognition: Ian Kinsler was recently voted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. Mazel tov.
Kinsler also made this latest list of Jewish all-stars. Too bad the author made some key errors. For example, Hank Greenberg did not hold the single-season home run record prior to Roger Maris. That, of course, was Babe Ruth’s 60 (the writer subsequently edited his entry). In addition, Rod Carew was never Jewish. Yes, he married a Jewish woman (from whom he is since divorced), but he never converted.
Here’s the entire roster, including relievers and bench players:

Moe Drabowsky is not Jewish. And David Newhan became a Jew for Jesus, so he’s out too, according to our “standards.”

what about norm and larry sherry, buddy meyer, cal abrams and kevin youk;is ?
I’m guessing the writer went strictly by position according to WAR (Wins Above Replacement). This is an argument of sentiment over accomplishment.
