Jewps update, Jan. 27

The Cleveland Cavaliers are “open” to entertaining trade discussions regarding Omri Casspi. He was held scoreless in a 113-108 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday and did not play in Saturday’s 99-98 win over the Toronto Raptors (Coach’s Decision). I wonder about that designation sometimes. Is the player injured? Is he being “punished?”

The New York Times ran this nice profile on Aaron Liberman, a 6’10″, Orthodox Jew who serves as center for the Northwestern University basketball team. The article, by Ben Strauss, reports that Liberman is something of a work in progress. maybe that explains why he has yet to appear in a game this season. The Wildcats, who play in the Big 10, are 12-9 overall, 3-5 within the conference.
