Façade

Nu Magazine - October 9, 2008, Poetry

Porcelain flowers casted within time
Apparent perfection; none can deny.
Untainted hues of those ivory leaves.

Although there is more than what meets the eye,
beneath the surface of this molded form.
Apparent perfection; none can deny,

Its bold façade is acclaimed as the norm.
Camouflaged from this coarse, aesthetic world,
beneath the surface of this molded form,

lays a secret which cannot be unfurled.
A harsh malediction of loathsome truth
camouflaged from this coarse, aesthetic world.

Conceit is expressed through eternal youth,
from this bouquet of abstract vanity.
A harsh malediction of loathsome truth

can evolve into such profanity.
Porcelain flowers casted within time
from this bouquet of abstract vanity.
Untainted hues of those ivory leaves.
