War

NU Magazine - April, 2012

Bombs exploding, lives are shattered,
Medics devoting time to the battered,
Even though tears and blood are shed,
We must believe in the prayers said.

Shouts of peace and treaties are everywhere,
In the hope of seeing a miracle so rare,
A miracle of all wars to halt,
For countries to admit their fault.

Beautiful children hide from the street,
Stop their games and don’t compete,
Should they fight or should they cry,
Will they live, or will they die?

Fear and death stain the air,
How much pain can someone bear,
Mothers, fathers, daughters, and sons,
Wait for the day we can put down our guns.
