Immigrant and Refugee Services — JFVS is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals as an agency authorized to represent clients before the Department of Homeland Security. JFVS staff is certified to advocate in person for immigration proceedings before the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

 

Services include: application for citizenship or green card, family visa petition, refugee/asylee petition, legal advocacy, ESL, and translation and interpretation services. Citizenship Preparation/ESL classes are offered at multiple sites.

 

JFVS provides resettlement services to refugees including but not limited to pre-arrival assistance, case management upon arrival, and coordination with HIAS and post arrival follow-up.
