Temple Shalom is a reform congregation in Western Morris County servicing 30+ communities in the area. Join us for our worship services and our many educational and social events and you will experience the spiritual and intellectual richness of our community. Led by Rabbi David Levy and Cantor Kathy Barr, we seek to engage our membership in all synagogue activities while meeting their individual needs. In addition to our main sanctuary, the Soffin Chapel is an intimate room for smaller worship experiences. Our outstanding religious school engages both children and adults in learning about our heritage. Cory Sue Hermann, director of congregational learning, is the core strength of the program, educating over 350 students.

Friday evening services begin at 8, except for Family Shabbat and on the third Friday of the month when services will begin at 7:30. We offer family services, for those with young children, usually on the first Friday of each month at 7:30, preceded by a Shabbaton dinner. Saturday morning services begin at 10. Tot Shabbat worship and experiences, for children in preschool to grade two, and Moadon Shabbat, for children in grades three-seven, are offered throughout the year. Ear phones are available for hearing enhancement as well as large-print prayer books and a barrier-free entrance.

In May 2011 Temple Shalom will be celebrating the completion of our renovation project, Chadeish Beiteinu, Renewing our Home and our year long celebration of our 50th anniversary. The renovation project brings many enhancements to the building, including a Judaic Study Center, a beautifully renovated social hall -- perfect for bar/bat mitzva celebrations or wedding receptions, elevator and ramp access for easy and safe handicap accessibility, an updated kitchen, and redesigned meeting rooms. This exciting project has not only enhanced our building but it has renewed our spiritual souls.

Temple Shalom offers sisterhood, brotherhood, Renaissance (55+), youth groups, ROOTS, and a Rosh Chodesh group. Adult education includes spirituality sessions, text study, and haftarah study with the rabbi and an adult lecture series. Temple Shalom is noted for its long history of social action within its neighborhood, the Jewish world, and the world over.
